Anyone who says they have only one life to live must not know how to read a book

Reading is the fuel for knowledge and its main stream. Reading is adding more years into your life. Years of experience and knowledge.

Once you decide to stop reading is a permission to increase the gap between you and the current world. In other words, you chose to live in the past ignoring everyday advances.

Reading is activating your brain and renewing its cells to accept more tasks. It is like gym for muscles. Your brain needs to exercise for recalling, understanding, analyze, and criticize.

Reading in general is very important even in topics that are different from your profession and major. Even this will be better! It is usual that part of creativity is to transfer one idea from one field and apply it in another field. For example, many concepts of software engineering are transferred from other industrial engineering paradigms such as quality assurance and quality control.

Finding time to read is a subject relevant to time management. Organize yourself for reading in addition to learning note taking, building summaries, referencing, speed reading, and other techniques that need practicing and exercising.

In future posts, I will discuss some of those techniques in further details.

The most important question now is “how frequent do you read?” – answering below poll will help in finding answers.
